Newsletter #25 The Southern Model Show 2022

at Headcorn

Setting up

Water was pumped from the local pond into a tanker.......

....then pumped into the temporary boating pond

First excitement on show day - several generators caught fire!

John S setting up our pitch - oops forgot the tablecloths!

Scale models - but what scale? 33 foot Swordsman and 31 foot Huntsman

Beware through traffic

Sometimes a club's name was clearly visible

All the way from Somerset

or more local from Herne Bay

and around Kent

but sometimes no obvious name

and I didn't take notes - sorry

Surface Warship Association

Southend-on Sea

Martin's subs on the Dover stand

Dover had a long display

More Dover

in a long gazebo

Fun is what its all about..............

.............Happy Hobby Modellers

Sorry, another one I don't know

Dragster for sale on the Grays stand

More from Greys Thurrock

More affordable than the real thing?

Serious surveying

6 berth Swordsman 'Gusty of Hamble' from Chantry Model Boat Club

and a Diva

and a Brumah

and yet more from Bluewater

Clearly their water is deeper than at Crowborough

I asked the sailor what boat it was - no reply!

Around the site

The flying field

One of the second-hand sales areas

Keep on truckin'

Car racing

Have a go

The bring and buy section

with just a few boats

Not everything was in miniature

and some kits bigger than others

Some not kits at all

KMFM took pictures

They even took one of Richard wearing deely boppers!

Fine sailing on the pond

a footy found it a bit too bumpy

The yellow Micro Magic sailed much better

From warships..........

.....to jet skis!

At the end of the day Jean had the pond to herself

Many thanks to those who organised the boating section and commentated at the pond

Happy Boating

John K
