Unfortunately only one round of the steering was possible before the day became more of a team building event. The boats and equipment were hurridly packed away in a gale and driving rain. The Mayor missed her opportunity to have a go. Mike Knight of SWAMBC came as a guest and won (but I'll get him back next time). Mike brought with him the modified SEAPORT boats that are to be used for the SWAMBC championship and members had the opportunty to try them out. The first three places on the day took home Easter eggs to enjoy as they dried out at home that evening. We now have a steering course ready for those fine weekends in summer and as we left the lake the talk was of setting dates when the course would be out again and the challenge would resume. Crowborough Model Boat club would welcome other boaters to come and sail with us for fun and indeed the chance to win some chocolate.
